Ibiza Carnival

The Ibiza carnival is an annual event held around February and March time. It is a very large festival which takes place in the centre of Ibiza. The carnival and festivities are designed to celebrate the end of winter and the beginning of spring, and is very popular among the locals as well as tourists.

People enjoy dressing up in brightly coloured costumes and taking part in the many parades down the historic streets. Whether they are singing, dancing, laughing or simply enjoying the atmosphere, everyone has a great time. The festival runs throughout the entire day and into the early hours of the following morning.

Elvissa Medieval Festival

This is one of biggest events of the year in Ibiza and it is focused in Dalt Vila. This incredible festival includes hundreds of mini events within it, and celebrates the UNESO world heritage title of Dalt Vila.

There is a medieval market, creative costumes, interesting dancers, exciting parades and even unusual street performers such as snake charmers. With so much going on you don’t know where to look! It’s a great experience that caters for the entire family, and is probably one of the best festivals in Ibiza.

Corpus Christi

The origins of the Corpus Christi festival are obviously religious, however today the exciting colours and events of the festival are present in tandem with the basic traditions. The main event of the Corpus Christi festival is the infamous ‘Dance of the Eagles’, which is performed in the main town square.

Semana Santa

This intrinsically religious festival is celebrated on Maundy Thursday. A procession leaves the church carrying a crucifix and parades through the town. On Good Friday, the parades and events spread out through the surrounding streets in remembrance of the true reason for celebrating Easter.
